York The Duchess

We are a 400 capacity live music venue situated in depths of the beautiful Stonebow House building in York city centre. We are currently busy making a few subtle changes to the place including speaker relocation and tweaking of the PA for improved sound and adding new lighting and hanging drapes for added intimacy. We are a live music venue. We specialise in live music. We will do whatever we can to ensure your experience here is a good one. The Duchess opened in August 2008 and has since hosted shows by Shed 7, Conor Oberst, Soulfly, We Are Scientists, Alabama 3,Arlo Guthrie,The Levellers, Seth Lakeman, Frank Turner, Evan Dando, Guillimots, The Big Pink, Imelda May, Futureheads, The View, Teddy Thompson, Roll Deep, I Am Kloot, Manchester Orchestra, Sunshine Underground, Yann Tierson and many, many others.
