Gift of the Gag is a unique comedy event which will bring together the best comedians to rival any summer festival show. There will be a special theatre set-up combining the cabaret seating of a comedy club and tiered theatre seating. Our comedians will also be performing on a catwalk stage!
All profits made from the event will be donated to the British Heart Foundation. Added together, the mix of quality comics performing and theatre setting will create an amazing event!!
Joining compere Tony Burgess, a former City Life comedian of the year who has starred in BBC Three’s “Ideal” as DJ Troy, Moz’s crazy, vinyl obsessed brother, is Alfie Moore who is making a return visit to Manchester, after previously headlining at Waterside Arts Centre’s legendary comedy night Buzz Comedy. Alfie’s distinctive material crafted in his shows “I Predicted a Riot” and “Laughter Police”, mean that his act is a must-see.
We are pleased to bring you a comedian to definitely look out for, Iszi Lawrence. Iszi took the Edinburgh fringe by storm last summer with her show “Iszi Lawrence’s Wotnot”. You can also check out Iszi’s excellent weekly podcast, “Sundays Supplement”.
Award-winning Pat Cahill will be massive, so catch his act before he sells out arenas. Pat has been awarded Chortle's Best Newcomer Award 2012 and has appeared on BBC Three's Comedy Empire.
Also, we are delighted to present Naz Osmanoglu on the bill. Naz is already a fringe festival veteran with acclaimed and irreverent sketch trio WitTank, who have been featured recently on BBC3′s Live at The Electric. Naz has also made a hilarious appearance on Russell Howard’s Good News. Naz’s shows are high-octane and full of energy! Check him out before he becomes a superstar!
