With his own charming blend of pop and hip hop, rapper Hoodie Allen went from Internet favourite to charting artist with the release of his 2012 EP All American.
Born Steven Markowitz and raised on Long Island, Hoodie first started releasing music while attending the University of Pennsylvania. After winning MTV's Best Music on Campus Award in 2009, his first big hit came with the 2010 track "You Are Not a Robot," which sampled Marina and The Diamonds and landed on his popular mixtape Pep Rally. A headlining tour across the U.S. followed before Hoodie made his official debut with the All-American EP in 2012. Released on his own label, the EP debuted at number ten on Billboard's Top Albums and was followed in 2013 by mixtape such as ‘Crew Cuts’ and his debut full length album People Keep Talking.
Hoodie has gone on to collaborate with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Chance the Rapper, G-Eazy, Blackbear, and many more, making his independent success a rarity in the current music landscape.
Following his latest 2017 release The Hype, Hoodie is embarking on his 4th European tour with a lot of new music readying for release in 2019.
