STATUS QUO COMPLETE BANK HOLIDAY CONCERT SERIES

The fourth and final announcement for the 2024 Live in Somerset bank holiday concert series has been made today (Friday 16^th February 2024), and it is none other than British rock legends Status Quo!

Status Quo are a five-piece band who have been entertaining the masses for over 60 years now since their formation in 1962, accumulating achievement after achievement during their astounding career.

The group consisting of Francis Rossi (lead guitar and vocals), Andy Bown (keyboard), John Edwards (bass guitar), Leon Cave (drums) and Richie Malone (rhythm guitar), will be taking to the stage in Vivary Park, Taunton on bank holiday Friday 23^rd of August 2024.

The band have amassed over 60 UK chart hits - more than any other rock band! They’re best known for songs such as ‘Whatever You Want’, ‘In The Army Now’, ‘Down Down’ and ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’; the single most famous for opening Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985.

Overall, Status Quo have released over 100 singles and 33 albums, their latest ‘Backbone’ being released in 2019. This has led to them spending more than seven and a half years in the British Singles Chart – the 11^th highest ever! Not to mention the 48 albums that reached the Top 75 in the British Albums Chart; more than any other band bar The Rolling Stones.

Status Quo will be joined by special guests at Live in Somerset 2024, making it a show not to be missed.

Tickets for Status Quo go on sale at 9am next Friday (23^rd February 2024).

One of Britain’s most successful boybands, JLS, have today (Friday 27^th October) confirmed they will be heading to Somerset as part of their ‘Summer Hits’ tour.

The 11-date UK wide tour will commence in June of next year, with the 2008 X-Factor runners up arriving at Taunton’s Vivary Park on Saturday 24^th of August 2024 for a bank holiday weekend performance.

The boyband, consisting of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan "JB" Gill, and Oritsé Williams, have sold over six million records, two million live tickets and racked up five UK chart number ones. In 2010, the impressive quartet were the first X-Factor act to win a prestigious BRIT Award, going on to win a further five MOBO Awards, four Digital Music Awards and three Urban Music Awards.

JLS’ latest album, titled ‘2.0’, was released in 2021 and the group are now looking to tour with a brand-new live show bursting with fresh elements alongside classics hits such as ‘Beat Again’, ‘Everybody in Love’ and ‘She Makes Me Wanna’.

Caitlin Brown of LCC Live, who are bringing the outdoor show to Vivary Park as part of their Live in Somerset 2024 series, commented;

IBIZA COMES TO SOMERSET

This summer, you don’t have to book that trip to Ibiza… Ibiza will come to you!

Clubs do not come more legendary than Ministry of Sound, and on Sunday 25^th of August 2024, Vivary Park in Taunton will welcome a magnificent 31-piece orchestra for a breathtaking twist on all the iconic Ibiza classics.

The legendary London venue was at the heart of the huge house scene of the 1990s and is still one of the biggest global brands in dance music today. Renowned for sell-out shows worldwide, they have joined forces with talented classical musicians to create a Ministry of Sound take on what an orchestral performance can be.

Th spectacular show will include ultimate dance hits from the 90s, such as: The Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy Hey Girl, Dario G – Sunchyme, Faithless – Insomnia, Fatboy Slim – Right Here, Right Now plus many more, delivered like never before.

Sharing the stage with Ministry of Sound Classical are three superb special guests that will be sure to set the mood ahead of the live orchestral experience. First up is international 90’s DJ and producer, Tall Paul, most famous for tracks such as Rock Da House, Let Me Show You, Deeper and Train Of Thought.

Next up is international saxophone player Ellie Sax, who can be found performing at the world’s most exclusive clubs and festivals. Ellie works alongside DJ’s such as N Trance, Marvin Humes and Artful Dodger to bring incredible live performances to the dance music world.

Completing the bill is K-Klass, with 5 UK top 40 hits and a grammy nomination under their belt. The group are best known for anthems such as Rhythm Is A Mystery, Let Me Show You and their remix of Bobby Brown’s Play That Game.

Noughties pop-punk band Busted are headed for a huge headline concert in Somerset!

The trio will be joined by special guests to perform at the picturesque Vivary Park in Taunton on bank holiday Monday 26th August 2024 as part of Live in Somerset’s weekend concert series.

Musicians Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne rose to fame as Busted with the release of their debut single What I Go To School For in 2002. The band then went on to release a number of hit singles such as Crashed The Wedding, Year 3000, Air Hostess and You Said No.

Busted have recently celebrated their 20th anniversary with a sold out nationwide arena tour in September of this year, which saw them perform to a combined audience of over 200,000 people over 26 shows. In the same month, the trio released Greatest Hits 2.0 – a compilation album of greatest hits featuring duets with the likes of James Arthur, The Jonas Brothers, All Time Low, Wheatus, and Mcfly among many more.

The band have sold more than 2 million tickets over the course of multiple sold-out arena tours and have gathered two BRIT awards for Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough.
