Manchester Jazz Festival is an annual 9-day-long festival focused on showcasing contemporary jazz from the North West of England and beyond.
The Manchester Jazz Festival was created in 1996 as a one-day showcase and has grown into a 9-day event. The Festival presents 9 days of live music at the end of July each year, typically having 400 musicians, 70 - 80 events over 7 - 10 venues.
There are alot of free gigs round the clock day and night. The music is mainly new and original material however there are premieres and international debuts which focus on musical innovation.
In 2010 Manchester Jazz Festival had in excess of 20,000 attendees with thousands more passing listeners at our open air venues.
