Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel Tickets

One of the truly great classic musicals, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel broke the mould with its gritty, courageous and emotional look at relationships. In a Maine coastal village toward the end of the 19th century, the swaggering, carefree carnival barker, Billy Bigelow, captivates and marries the naive millworker, Julie Jordan. Billy loses his job just as he learns that Julie is pregnant and, desperately intent upon providing a decent life for his family, he is coerced into being an accomplice to a robbery which changes their lives forever...

Carousel has one of the most ravishing and celebrated scores of all time and features some of the most powerful music ever written for the stage, including If I Loved You, Mister Snow, June is Bustin Out All Over and the iconic You’ll Never Walk Alone. It's easy to understand why, of all the shows they created, Carousel was Rodgers & Hammerstein's personal favourite.

Carousel was Rodgers and Hammerstein’s second collaboration, and was adapted from Ferenc Molnar’s 1909 play Lilliom. Voted the best musical of the 20th century by Time Magazine, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel is the classic American musical, spanning heaven and earth in its exploration of human frailty, resilience, and the power of forgiveness.

Meighan Youth Theatre (MYT) Productions was founded in 2009 when two 15 year old schools boys from Trafford were given council funding to create a theatrical project for young people and since then, MYT has never looked back.

Having staged large scale, high quality productions every year since the company was formed, MYT has gone from strength to strength and has given young people the opportunity to perform, develop skills, work behind the scenes and be part of a production team.

Many past members have gone on to study at various Drama Schools in London and across the country such as Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Central School of Speech and Drama, PPA, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, GSA, London School of Musical Theatre and various other prestigious schools. At Meighan Youth Theatre, it is important to us to give our performers the most professional experience possible; meaning they don’t just get to be part of fully-?edged production, but they get the training required to start the foundations of exciting theatrical careers
