AFTERNOON PEOPLE

The indie-rock quartet formed in September 2019 in the heart of the UK’s music scene, Manchester. The band, who were born and raised in the city have gigged their way around iconic music venues such as Jimmy’s and Manchester Academy. From as early as their first gig in October 2019, the lads performed their own original tracks which were well received by music fans and critics. Their first headline gig was a sell-out and the demand for them to perform around the city has been ever-increasing, amassing a loyal fanbase from the get-go. Since then, the fourpiece have spent time refining their sound and recording new music, their debut single ‘Sovereign’ was released earlier this year. Lockdown has meant the quartet have had time to write, record and prepare for a big return in 2021, releasing more music and supporting The Lathums on their UK tour. Vocalist/guitarist and songwriter Finley Corcoran, songwriter/lead guitarist/backing vocals Jack Cordingley, bassist/backing vocals Mason Wilding and Dylan Murphy on the drums. “One of the best new bands in the country” – Our Sounds Music
Melodic four piece Indie Rock’n’Roll band, hailing from former mining villages around South Yorkshire. The no nonsense, driven sound encapsulates their working class roots, whilst the contrast of escapism inspired lyrics shows a yearning for something more (SOURCE:SPOTIFY)

MC TUNES

b. Nicholas Lockett, Manchester, England. This rapper rose to fame by collaborating with local dance music stars 808 State, and later appeared on A Guy Called Gerald’s ‘Juicebox’ single (A Guy Called Gerald also being a former member of 808 State). Whenever Tunes recorded solo, however, he seemed to possess a talent for over-estimating his own abilities. ‘This is a concept of exceptional musical talent’, he rapped on the single, ‘Primary Rhyming’. It was not. His sole album was completed with strong musical backdrops provided by 808 State, but the fierce rendering of tales of inner-city violence and the perils of drink and drugs failed to gel. 808 State moved on to greater achievements while their former sparring partner was banished to obscurity. MC Tunes finally returned in the mid-90s with a new Manchester band, Dust Junkies. Featuring four musicians and a more guitar-orientated style, they were signed by Polydor Records in 1996 (SOURCE SPOTIFY)
