    ZSL - London Zoo

    ZSL - London Zoo

With over 800 amazing animal species to discover, as well as live shows and fantastic, immersive exhibits including Tiger Territory, London Zoo is  an unmissable attraction.

    Zoorassic Park

A new herd of animals is arriving at ZSL London Zoo this summer, as the Zoo becomes home to the most colossal creatures ever to walk the earth - dinosaurs!

For just six weeks, visitors to the Zoo will be taken back in time to a prehistoric world where they will come face-to-face with life-size, moving dinosaurs - from the giant but gentle brachiosaurus to the towering tyrannosaurus rex.

Included in Zoo entry, visitors will take a trip via a time machine to the Mesozoic era (about 65 million years ago – give or take a few days), where ZSL’s tour guides will help visitors spot dino-faves like the triceratops, standing guard over its nest, or take them through an encounter with the armour-plated edmontonia - a tank-like dinosaur covered in spikes.

Families will be given their own passports for the time travel safari, which will take them on a journey of discovery taking in the fascinating creatures, as well as learning all about the important work ZSL’s conservationists are doing to help prevent today’s animals from becoming extinct.

With a fun trail for kids to complete, fossil digs to explore and baby dinosaurs to meet, visitors might not want to return to 2017!

    Land of the Lions

ZSL London Zoo has opened its biggest and most breath-taking experience yet: Land of the Lions.

Enter the crumbling ruin of an amphitheatre-style Lion Temple and see the majestic big cats roaming just metres away, separated only by fine wires.

Transporting visitors from the heart of London to the vibrant setting of Sasan Gir, the exhibit immerses visitors in the sounds, sights and native wildlife of India, while highlighting the importance of conserving these beautiful and endangered animals.

Land of the Lions also supports a global breeding effort, helping to secure the future of the species by working with Zoos all over the world to ensure the existence of a healthy population continues.

For those who want to experience a taste of conservation in action, Land of the Lions sees visitors become part of an interactive adventure as they help ZSL’s forest rangers deal with a ‘lion-emergency’ in the Gir Forest, and lend a hand to the veterinary team who come to the rescue.

With 2,500sqm of breath-taking space, including an overhead walkway, re-creations of Sasan Gir train station, a crumbling temple, Indian high street and so much more, Land of the Lions will inform, inspire and excite wildlife lovers of all ages and promises to be an experience unlike any other - the must-visit attraction of 2016!

    Tiger Territory

Tiger Territory opened to the public in March 2013 and has been a resounding success. For the first time ever, visitors are able to  explore the lush world of the Sumatran tiger in the heart of London. Through immersive and interactive experiences Tiger Territory takes you closer than ever to the natural environment of one of nature’s most awesome predators. Wide windows with lush foliage bring you right into the heart of the tigers’ domain. Separated by a single pane of glass you will watch… and be watched.

    Gorilla Kingdom

Get up close to the zoo’s western lowland gorillas in a natural environment – one that mimics their African rainforest! Take a peek at the gorillas and see what they’re up to before learning a bit more about them through interactive activities and exhibits.

    Penguin Beach

Head down to the beach and watch London’s largest colony of Humboldt Penguins dive, swim, frolic and feed.

    Rainforest Life

This indoor exhibit introduces visitors to life living in the rainforest  coming face to face with sloths. monkeys and  armadillos!  See how these nocturnal creatures live as the lights dim.

    Children’s Zoo

Smaller children will love the Children’s Zoo – they can visit the Touch Zone and pat goats, sheep and chickens and have fun in the educational play areas.

Other sights and attractions at London Zoo

Daily events take place on site for visitors, including a selection of keeper talks, animal feeds and animal demonstrations. Come face to face with a whole host of animals at the Amphitheatre with Animals in Action or watch the penguins feed in England’s biggest penguin pool with Penguin Beach Live! Feeling brave? Make your way down to the display lawn to catch a glimpse of some amazing birds in flight with Deadly Birds.

Please note: The Zoo will close at 5pm (last entry 4pm) on Friday 9, 16, 23, 30 June and Friday 7 & 14 July 2017.
