Caspian is a rapper from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada who opened shows for Akon and Rick Ross, among others.
Born in Kuwait, Caspian left for Canada one year before Desert Storm, first to Montreal and then to Vancouver where his love for music would eventually have him rapping on Maximus Cleans radio show The Morning Drive By. Remaining Undefeated in the Radio Battles, Caspian was retired and named the Wayne Gretzsky of hip-hop battles in Vancouver.
Longtime Surrey MC Caspianhas been waving his hometown flag longer and harder than most, which is confirmed by his unmistakable and unmissable tattoo of ‘Surrey’ in script covering his forearm.
Caspian’s been at it for over a decade and now, with the help of Surrey’s urban clothing line Ephin and the infamous graffiti crew Stompdown Killas, his presence can’t be denied. With a recent single deal with East Coast label CP Records, regular video rotation on MuchMusic, and clocking serious numbers on Youtube for any one of his various videos, his presence also can’t be ignored. HipHopCanada had a chance to sit down with the ‘Prince Of Persia’ at the Ephin headquarters in Surrey to find out a little more about where this MC is at, and where he’s headed.
